I'm an American man living and working in Portland, Oregon, USA. I'm posting this ad abroad because I love to travel (I've lived in 4 different countries and sailed around the world), but I haven't been able to get away for a few years. I'm looking for a penpal to for friendship and cultural exchange. I teach English at a local college in Portland and I just haven't had the time to travel abroad, so I thought I'd use Craigslist and "virtually" travel to China!

I recently bought my first house. It's a beautiful bungalow style home built in 1925 with a picturesque backyard with a huge maple tree and a tall fence. I'm not married and I don't have any children. I love art, movies, music, philosophy, reading and traveling.

I've never been to mainland China. The closest I got was Taiwan. I wanted to go so bad, but I was on a ship with 500 passengers so it wasn't my decision. I've decided that the very next place I travel to will be China. Hopefully, I'll get to visit you soon!
