- manage the production control team to execute our strategy and operating plan
- direct the team in their coordination activities as identified as, but not - limited to:
- manage the approval process working with vendors and/or factory
- review technical aspects of seasonal specification and
detail workbook packages from Product Development team and Senior Tech
vendors / agents and SM/CM
- measure / evaluate all salesman (counter) samples
- evaluates original construction, fit, pre-production and production samples
- send all approved fit and pre-production samples to the technical for
review reference within timelines
- ensure vendors adhere/conform to regulatory quality requirements and
escalate problems
- be versed / updated on Canadian Government Child safety regulations by
working with Toronto Tech
- accountable for using company-approved tools, processes and technology
- update and communicate with technical teams using email, video conferencing
digital camera, and network drive regularly
- update applicable milestones
- motivate team to perform at an exceptional level by providing day to day
direction, removing roadblocks, and providing coaching and development
- hire, train, and manage staff performance as needed
Qualifications
- post secondary diploma or certificate in apparel manufacturing, design and/or
patterning making
- 5+ years experience in apparel industry including pattern making and
knowledge of production and timelines
- minimum of 3 years of people management experience
- fabric knowledge and experience with garment supplier in or around
Shanghai / Zhejiang / Jiangshu is a must
- skilled in pattern making, grading, construction and fit
- knowledge of fabric, construction standards and manufacturing
- good Microsoft Office software skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
- proven ability to maximize team performance through the establishment of
performance goals, coaching, training and performance evaluation
- excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work
flexible hours as required
- excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and
Mandarin/Cantonese
- energetic with superior problem solving and follow up skills
- willingness and ability to travel within China and Canada
