I need someone to help me practice Mandarin.
I get lessons from my company but, since I never practice, the learning is slow going. I think with the proper motivation I would start to practice. That's where you come in. I'm looking for a woman, 19-25, to meet me somewhere, once or twice a week for an hour or two to help me not just practice my spoken Chinese but also to understand more about Chinese culture and people. I've found there are a lot of sayings that don't make sense without an understanding of the cultural context they come from. In exchange I will help you with your English, both the language and the culture, well, American culture, I can't help you all that much with Brits or Aussies.
I'm looking for a girl around my age because, honestly, I'll focus better and stay interested more than I would with a guy and I spend a lot more time around people my age than I do older ones. I used to teach so I know a thing or two about how to go about making sure we are both getting something out of our sessions.
